Rascally The Rabbit

We have had a visitor at our house the past few days and his name is Rascally The Rabbit. This is the "class pet" at Cooper's preschool and he gets to bring him home once in the fall and once in the spring (He hibernates in the Winter). I think it is such a cute idea and Cooper has had so much fun with him and carries Rascally everywhere. He plays with him, sleeps with him, and he even has his own seat at the table. Cooper has to take him back tomorrow, and I think he will be disappointed, but he is already looking forward to his turn in the spring. Oh yeah, for all of the germ freaks out there like me, Rascally was purchased this year and has only been with about 4 other kids. You can guarantee that he will get a bath in the Spring when Cooper brings him home.

Family Trip

Our family just got back from visiting my grandparents in Star Valley and we had a great time. The kids absolutely loved seeing all of the colorful leaves and beautiful scenery. While we were up there, we went up to Jackson Hole, went over to the Tetons, and went for a little hike called Periodic Springs. We really enjoyed our time up there and we really enjoyed spending time with my grandparents.

2 going on 13!!!!

The other day the kids and I were cleaning up the toys (again) when Cooper asked me why we always have to clean up the toys. I told him, "Because you and Kendall are the ones that make the mess. Not mommy." Kendall then walked over to me with were shoulders slumped forward and said, "But mommy, you just don't understand." I couldn't believe my ears. First of all, her sentence was as clear as day and second of all, that my two year old could be so dramatic. I turned to her and I said, "I don't understand?" She walked over to me and put her head in my lap and in a whiny voice she said, "No Mommy." It made me laugh. She can be so dramatic sometimes. I am in for a real treat when she is a teenager.

Peaches Anyone?

My friend Christina and I ventured up to Brigham City for the third year to buy peaches for canning. We spent all day Friday canning and ended up with 68 quarts and 28 pints. It is a lot of work, but it is so rewarding to see the final product and see my storage shelves lined with peaches. On Saturday, we decided to venture out and buy a peach tree. Ted and I have been talking about it for a while and we thought we might as well. Maybe someday we won't have to drive to Brigham anymore. Anyway, the kids were really excited about helping and everyone is proud of our new tree. Cooper had to go out and see it today because he wanted to see if it had grown.

Kids say the cutest things!!!!

The last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy for our family. We have had a lot going on lately. One of those things is that my Grandpa Keith died about a week ago. We took the kids to his viewing and we had tried to tell Cooper what was going on, but you could tell that he was pretty confused. After we had been at the mortuary for a while and the kids were spending more time outside than inside, we decided that it was time to go. As we were walking, Cooper asked us "Is this where Heavenly Father lives?" I thought it was the cutest thing ever. We had been telling him that Grandpa went to live with Heavenly Father and now Cooper was seeing my Grandpa at the mortuary. It made me laugh and I could see why he would be so confused. I made a mental note to myself to have a Family Home Evening lesson tonight about our spirits and our bodies using the glove example. This whole thing just brought a huge smile to myself and made me realize how innocent (and smart) little kids are. I am thankful for my kids and the cute things that they do. They bring so much joy and happiness to our lives.

First Day of Preschool!!!

My little baby is growing up. Today Cooper started preschool at the Lil' Rascals Preschool. Last night he was a little apprehensive, but this morning he seemed more excited. Especially when he found out I was going with him for the first 45 minutes. I took these pictures of Cooper before we went to his school. He was not too excited about Kendall being in his pictures. I was going to get mad at him, but then I realized that he knew that this was his moment. It was kind of cute. Hopefully he had fun at preschool. I am going to pick him up in just a few minutes.

My Little Piggies!!!

For the first time today I was able to put Kendall's hair in little pigtails and I am so excited. I think she looks so adorable and grown up. After 2 years, I am finally able to do something with her hair. I know I will regret this one day soon when she won't let me do her hair, but for now it is kind of fun to do different things with her hair. We had just gotten home from church when I took these pictures and she thought it was so funny to run off on me, so that is why there isn't a really good photo. Of course, the one with "the look" is her normal self now days.
