Shower Girl!!!!

My little Kendall absolutely loves to take showers now. On Friday I told her I had to take a shower before we picked Cooper up from preschool. She said she wanted to shower with me and even though we were in a hurry, I put her in with me. She just stood there the whole time filling up her little cups and letting the water roll down her face. When it was time to get out, she said she wanted to stay in. At first I hesitated and then I thought that would be a great opportunity for me to hurry and get ready. She stayed in there for at least 20 more minutes just playing in the water. The only thing that got her out was the she set off the smoke detectors from all the steam coming out of the bathroom. I had to fan something in front of the smoke detectors 3 times before they finally shut off and didn't come back on. Kendall's only remark was, "That was fun!!!" All I can say is that she is all ready a diva!!!!

My Baby.....He's Growing Up Too Fast!!!

I cannot believe that my baby Cooper is going to be going to Kindergarten in the fall. Time goes by so fast and it just seems like yesterday we brought him home from the N.I.C.U. and started our lives together as a family.

Last week I took Cooper in for his Kindergarten well-check and he was such a big boy. He did everything the doctor told him to and he thought he was so special because it was just me and him and the baby in my belly. I thought that was so cute. Anyway, he did really well at the doctor's office and I was so proud of him. They had to poke his little finger and then give him four shots and he didn't even cry. He was pretty mad at the nurses, though, and I can't say I blame him. After it was all over the nurses give him a little gift bag that had a book about going to school, stickers, crayons, and coloring paper. He thought that was pretty cool.

On Friday, Ted and I took him to his Kindergarten Open House and he wasn't so sure what to think at first, but once the teachers took the kids to read a story with them, he thought it was so much fun. It did make me sad, though, because like I said, my little baby is growing up. It was so cute though because that night he was so happy and I asked him if he was happy to go to the party we were going to that night and he said, "No. I am excited to go to Kindergarten." That just melted my heart. I hope he keeps that positive attitude about school.

The Innocence of Children

Yesterday in Primary we learned about mothers and all they do for us. Each child had to fill out a card for their mom and tell her what they love about her. This is what Cooper said:

-She drives me to McDonalds
-Plays with me and Kendall
-Reads stories to me
-Is pretty
-Gives me a bath
-Cooks me dinner
-Bakes me whatever cake I want
-Cooks me noodles
-Gives me hugs and kisses

I thought it was so stinkin' cute. I asked his teacher if he came up with these all by himself and she said yes. Kids have such a sweet spirit and it is so fun to hear the things that they love about you.


On Saturday we went to the Draper Temple open house and the kids were so excited to go. Kendall kept saying over and over that she wanted to go to the temple. They actually did really well inside and were pretty reverent. I was very proud of them. Kendall did start to get restless, however, when we had to wait for the bus to take us back to our car. She walked over to me and said, "Mom, this is so born!!" She meant boring, but it made me laugh so hard because she was so dramatic about it. She kind of just threw herself on the chair and laid there.

When we finally got on the bus, one of the volunteers asked what the kids' favorite part of the temple was. Kendall's answer was sweet. She said the water (from the baptismal font). Cooper was just totally honest and said the cookies and the bus ride. It made us laugh to think we had just spent all that time in the temple and his favorite part was the cookies and the bus. However, later he told us he couldn't wait to go to the next open house and that he liked going inside the temple. I am grateful for me sweet little kids and their innocence. It helps me to remember what this life is all about.

My Sweet Kids!!!

The other night after we were finished eating dinner, we were all just sitting around the table talking and I was pretty worn out, so I was in no hurry to clear the table. A few minutes later, Cooper got down from his chair and started clearing the table all by himself. I was so surprised because he has never done that without us asking him. Ted and I told him thank you for his help and that he was a good helper. This is what he said.: "Your welcome. Now you don't have to do all the work by yourself." I thought that was so cute and it just made my heart melt. He is such a good boy and is always looking out for his family.

On another note, Kendall is finally getting potty-trained. I know I made a post a few months ago that we were trying, but neither of us were ready. We had a rough first week, but she has been doing really well. It is so nice to feel like you are accomplishing such a much dreaded task.

Kids say the cutest things!!!

Last Sunday we went for a little drive to get everyone out of the house. As we were driving, this conversation took place:

Kendall: I see the Temple Mama!!!
Me: You do?
Kendall: Yes. I want to get married there.
Cooper: Do you know you have to be quiet in the Temple and whisper?
Kendall: Yes.
Cooper: You have to be quiet because it is Jesus' house. Huh Mom?
Me: That's right Bud.
Cooper: Yup.

It was just so cute to see them get so excited about the Temple and the gospel in general. Cooper is learning so much in Primary this year and it is so exciting to see him learning and growing so much. We are going to the Draper Temple on Saturday and I can't wait for them to see the inside of a Temple.

Is anybody in here?

Last night my kids were bouncing off the walls and going totally stir-crazy, so we decided to play hide-and-seek with them. It was Ted's turn to count, so he went downstairs while we hid upstairs. Both kids wanted to hide with me so we decided to hide in the bathtub behind the shower curtain. Ted started looking for us by going in Kendall's room. This is how the conversation went:

Ted: Is anybody in here?
Kendall: No!!!!!!
Ted: Is anybody in here? (Now in Cooper's room)
Kendall: No Daddy!!!!!
Ted: I can't find you guys!
Kendall: We're in here daddy!! In the bafroom!!

It was so funny. We were all laughing so hard. It was so cute because she totally doesn't get the concept, but she still loves to play hide-and-seek.


My kids were going stir-crazy because I had my cerclage last week and it has taken a while for me to recover, so they really haven't been anywhere. We have just been hanging out at home. Can I just say that I cannot wait until Spring gets here. I was so disappointed when I woke up to snow on the ground. What a bummer!!

Another Day!!

I am a little late posting about our Valentine's Day because Kendall hasn't been feeling very well, so I have been dealing with her. Last night her and I got a total of about 4 hours of sleep. She was up all night coughing and crying. I feel so bad for her. The doctor says it is just a virus that is causing croup and that there isn't anything we can do. That is always comforting, isn't it. I will post pics. later of our fun day, but right now Kendall is crying for me.
