Morgan's Birth Story!!!

Morgan was born on Sunday July 19th and that morning when I woke up I had no idea that she would be brought into this world. I woke up about 8:30 that morning wondering what the heck was going on. Either my water had broke or.....I didn't want to think of the alternative. How humiliating, right? So I climb out of bed without waking Ted and head to the bathroom. This is where I start to think that my water had broke. I get into the shower, get dressed and head downstairs to find out more info. on this situation. I then head back upstairs to tell Ted what is going on. You should have seen the look on his face. You could tell he was shocked and didn't quite know what to do or think. I then laid on the bed for a while debating what to do. Should I go to church and do singing time or should I go to the hospital? After much deliberation, I called my sub for church, called me mom, finished getting ready and packed the kids some clothes. My mom was on call for when I went into labor, so we took them over there and headed to the hospital.

Once we got checked into the hospital and settled in a room, a nurse came to check me and told me I was diolated to a 2 and while she was checking me, she finished breaking my water. It was official. I was in labor and we were going to have a baby!!! I was so excited!!! After that, the contractions started coming and at first they were pretty managable. After that, however, they got pretty painful and I wasn't quite sure how to fight through the pain because I had never taken a birthing class (we had never made it this far). During the contractions, Morgan's heart rate kept dropping and as the contractions got more intense, her heart rate got worse. They called my doctor and he said to give me an epidural just in case a C-section was necessary. Shortly after I received the epidural, her heart rate began to drop once more. It was at that moment that it was decided that I would need another C-section, so off to the operating room we went. The staff in there was amazing. They kept me posted on what was going on and did their best to keep me calm. At 5:41 p.m., Morgan came out of my stomach and Ted and I were both surprised that she was a girl. We thought we were for sure having a boy. When she came out, all she did was make this cute little mouse squeak. She didn't even cry and it was so cute. She was so cute and I was so glad I was awake this time so that I could hold her by my head. I am so thankful that her birth went well and that we have a beautiful and healthy baby girl.
