When you stop and think about children and their little minds you realize just how sweet, pure, and innocent they really are. This manifested itself today with both Cooper and Kendall.
First, we were getting dressed back up this afternoon to head over to the church for tithing settlement and Cooper was asking me lots of questions about why we do tithing settlement and who our bishop is (we just got a new bishop about a month ago). I answered all of his questions and then we headed over for our meeting. Cooper met the Bishop and the kids sat quietly while we talked. When we got back home, I asked Cooper if he remembered who our bishop was and he said he didn't remember. I then said, "Bishop............" and his reply was "ric?" It was so cute. It brought a huge smile to my face. He is always hearing us talk about the bishopric, so it made perfect sense that the Bishop's name would be Ric.
Then, tonight the kids were playing with their blankies over their heads, walking around, bumping into things, and giggling nonstop. It was finally time to brush their teeth and when I tried to tell them they would not listen and so I told them loudly that they needed to listen and come brush their teeth. Kendall then proceeds to lay her blanket on the ground and starts to arrange it. A little frustrated, I pull the blankets away from both of them and throw them behind me saying, "Alright. It is time to be done with the bloody blankets!!!" Kendall looks at me with the saddest face ever and says, "We're done with the bloody blankets?" and then started to cry. I bursted into laughter and she followed suit.
I am thankful for my kids and the cute things they say. Guess I better watch what I say, huh?
