Our Newest Addition

Reese Madison Lucas
Born on July 22nd at 4:40 p.m.
6 lb. 5 oz. 19 inches

Saturday night I woke up with constant cramping in my back and stomach and random contractions.  I thought we might we heading to the hospital, but they subsided and I stayed home from church on Sunday to rest.  The contractions were still random on Sunday, but they hurt pretty bad.  By Monday morning, I was exhausted and headed to my ob apt.  I told him what had been going on and he said that was normal.  There were no changes with anything and I was pretty frustrated.  He then asked me if the baby had been moving the normal amount and I said, "I guess."  He didn't like my answer, so he did a non stress test.  Everything was going great until I had a contraction.  The baby's heart rate dropped to 60 and my ob didn't like that when I told him it was because I had a contraction.  Off to labor and delivery I went to be monitored for a few hours.  I called Ted to have him come up and it was a good thing I did because her heart rate dropped two more times and they said they were taking the baby.

Our new baby Reese.

My first time holding Reese.

Cute daddy and his newest baby girl.

My mom had the kids, so we told her to bring the kids up to meet their newest sibling.  We didn't tell her what the baby was, because we wanted it to be a surprise.  Cooper was sad at first, but that changed when he held her.

The kids love Reese and they couldn't get enough of her in the hospital.

Nana and Papa meeting their newest granddaughter.

Our first family photo.

The kids eager to see what the nurse was doing.

Family walk around the hospital.  My first time out of the room in 2 days.

Why did we take this picture you ask?  This is where I spent 16 days in the hospital with Cooper before he was born.  Just down the hall from where I was.

I love Morgan's little pose.  Ready to hold her little sister.

Reese ready for her first car ride and looking cute in her new outfit.

The kids came to pick me and Reese up.  They were so excited.

Finally home.  The kids were so excited.
