This year we picked 98 pounds of peaches off our tree. We were so excited and impressed when we realized just how many peaches were on our tree. That was the beginning of the canning and it didn't stop for a very long time. Here is what I canned this year:
-34 quarts of peaches
-17 quarts of pears
-24 pints of applesauce
-25 pints of salsa
-15 pints of enchilada sauce
-25 pints of freezer jam
-10 bags of frozen broccoli from our garden
I love being able to can what we have grown and be able to eat it throughout the year. I am so nerdy because I love to see all my hard work sitting on the shelves.
Here are some pictures of our excited kids picking the peaches. We did this the day after we got home from Seattle. They turned out to be too ripe and so I only got 11 of my 34 quarts of peaches from our tree. It was very frustrating, but I knew there was nothing I could do since we were out of town. I just decided to move on and still make my annual trip to Brigham City.
