Seattle Trip

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in June and we wanted to go somewhere to celebrate.  We had planned on taking a cruise or something, but with Ted starting a new job in May, we decided to go somewhere that wouldn't require him to miss as many days.  I'm glad that we chose to go to Seattle, though, because I had never been and we had a blast.

Ted at Pike's Market in front of where they throw the fish.  He thought
it was so cool and I thought it was sooooo stinky!!

One thing that I really wanted to do was go to the Gum Wall.
I'm not sure why because it is kind of gross, but it is so cool
and is so iconic.

I had to leave my mark and follow tradition.

It's kind of cool how the heat makes the gum drip like
this.  It was really cool to see in person.  There was
even a family there taking their family photos.  Cool idea.

Ted and I thought these guys were funny.......
...So we took our photos mimicking them.
(They are right across from one another, so if
you look close, you will see why we found it funny).

This is a picture on the underground tour.  I
had no idea, but there is a whole level of the buildings
in Seattle under gound. This was the store
front of building above us before they moved the
dirt down the hill.

You got to these under ground buildings
through stairways off of the street.

Ted and I took a ferry to Victoria, Canada.  It was
chilly out on the deck.

This is on the dock in Victoria.

Ted had asked the owner of this cart to take our picture
and he noticed that the guy had Ketchup chips. We had
never seen those before, so Ted told him he thought
that was cool.  The guy told us we could have a bag,
so Ted felt he had to help the guy out.

Ted's prize for helping the guy.

It was recommended that we take the Buchardt Garden's
tour and so away we went.  We asked a lady to take this
picture and when we asked her how the garden's were,
she put her hand on her chest, looked like she would
cry, and said, "Absolutely amazing.  They are just
so gorgeous!".... That made us laugh. :)

The gardens were so calm and serene.

Ted and I got in the a photo war of who could
take the coolest picture of the flowers.  What do you think?

Ted took this picture from a window of a little lookout
area and I think it turned out kind of cool.

Ted and I in front of a fountain at the gardens.

The pictures do not do this place justice.  Trust me.  I was
very skeptical about going, but I am glad we did.

This is me at the end of the Garden's where we found
a water front.  It was really pretty.

There were so many boats in the marina and it looked really cool.

Another place Ted and I wanted to go was Snoqualmie falls,
so the next day we headed over there.

Ted is so fascinated by trains and we found a little
train station like they have in Heber, so we stopped by
to take a ride, but it was only open on Saturdays.... You will
see later that we headed back to take a ride.

Another must have place for me was this waterfall.  The
cool thing about this is that it's in the middle of the city.
It's a tiny little park that is fenced off and only open
a few hours each day.  It was very peaceful.

We also decided to take a car ferry to an island
in Seattle.  I had never done that and it was
really cool.

The ferry leaving Seattle.

Coming back to Seattle.

Ted and I did sealings in the Seattle temple and is was
a great experience.  We met a couple who took 5 hours out of their
day to travel and to the sealings.  It made us realize how lucky we are.
The lady also had some sort of disease the was debilitating on her body,
but she was the happiest person I have ever met.  Very inspiring.

Ted and I get our train ride in.  Ted absolutely loves trains.

One of Ted's must haves was to go to a Mariner's game.
He was so happy.  We couldn't believe the price for parking, though.
We finally found a place for $15 bucks, which was pretty cheap considering that
the closer the got to the field, the more money you paid.  The highest we saw was $50!!!!!

The happy couple at the game.

I thought this was cool, so I took Ted's picture.

This is us on top of the Space Needle.

This is the view.

Ted and I walking on the boardwalk on our last night.

I just had to take a picture of this Starbucks.  It is the first
Starbucks ever and I thought my family would appreciate it.
I think they are the reason this company is still in business.
Plus, I like the non-coffee drinks. :)

Before we caught our plane, we headed over to
Alkai beach and decided spur of the moment to
go kayaking...... I'm glad we did.  It was a lot of fun.
I'm sure the people at the airport thought we were crazy,
though, because we both had wet bums and looked like
we peed our pants. :)

This was a fun trip and one that I will never forget.
