I haven't posted on my blog for a long time because I am out of storage space for photos. My plan was to transfer some of the stuff to a photo book and delete those posts, but that hasn't happened yet. Anyway, I realized that I am missing out on memories and that I can still write about them.
Cooper's 3rd grade went on a field trip this week and he came home one day and asked me to go with him. I was so excited because he is getting to the point where I am not nearly as cool to be seen with at school. I told him that I would go and found a babysitter for Morgan. I was prepared for major chaos with trying to keep tabs on numerous boys, and to my surprise, there were only two kids in my group including Cooper. This was absolutely wonderful because the other boy, Watson, is reserved like Cooper and it was actually a very relaxing day (other than the bus ride). It was so fun to see him so excited and having such a great time interacting with his friends. When we got back to the school, he surprised me by giving me a hug in front of everyone!!!! Makes a mom feel good. That night he gave me tons of hugs and then finally said, "Mom, thanks for coming with me today. I had a lot of fun." I told him I had fun too and that I had to come on these things while he wasn't embarrassed to be around me. He just smiled and walked away. Later that night I was leaving for a dinner and Cooper stuck his head out of the garage door just enough so that no one would see him and he blew me a kiss. It was the sweetest thing ever and melted my heart.
Morgan, Cooper, and Kendall were playing with legos a few weeks ago and they had quite a funny little conversation going:
Morgan: I don't have another bed and I can't buy one.
Kendall: How come?
Morgan: Because my husband won't let me.
Kendall: Oh. Well you just go and buy it anyway without telling him.
Cooper: Yeah. Then you just take off the tags and he will never know.
I was laughing so hard. Ted didn't find it as funny as I did, but I reassured him that I don't pull those kinds of tricks on him. Kids!!!!
Last thought. We have been working on stopping Morgan's thumb sucking for the last two weeks and it has been pretty rough. This week, especially, because Ted has been out of town all week and we have had a super crazy week. One night while I was putting Morgan to bed, she kept saying she needed a bandaid on her thumb because it hurt. It was red, raw, and and really dry. I told her that if I put a bandaid on it, she wouldn't be able to suck her thumb. She kept pushing for the bandaid and so I finally put one on. She slept through the night and so we decided to keep it wrapped up. It has made it so she won't nap and by the end of the day she is really tired. I have wanted to give in so many times and I actually feel bad for her. We will see how this goes.
