Does being cute get me out of trouble?

So Kendall has started to hit lately when she is mad or frustrated, so I keep putting her in time out. Well, today Cooper and Kendall were playing and all of a sudden Cooper comes over to me and tells me that Kendall hit him. I didn't see what happened, or if she really did hit him, so I didn't put her in time out. I did, however, ask her to say sorry. Actually I said, "What do you say Kendall?" She stands up all proud and says, "Thank you!" I couldn't be mad anymore. We all started laughing, including Cooper and then she thought she was the cutest thing ever. Knowing her, she was probably telling us thank you for letting her hit him.
